4 Types of Properties To Market with Aerial Photographs
These days, the options to shoot elevated photos of land and homes are pretty varied. We can use a mast for many properties, and a drone when we need more flexibility.Once or twice a year, though, we take our elevated shots up another level. When we need big-time views and dramatic impact, we charter a plane for an aerial photoshoot. There's a lot we could tell you about these high-flying shoots. But, we'll start by answering this question:Why go to the trouble?
Well, photos like that one are the short answer. But, the longer version is that aerials are the ideal way to show off certain types of properties. Here are 4 that are best marketed "by air":
- Properties with Jaw-Dropping Surroundings. From a cliffside home to an island resort, properties in stunning locations benefit from showing off their neighborhoods. The Massanutten Mountain lot we photographed in May is a great example of this. It looks fantastic on the ground, but aerial shots give a much bigger, better picture of just how special the land is.
- Large Commercial Parcels. When a business considers real estate, location is paramount. Aerials make it easy to visual local transportation options. Plus, they're a great showcase for multi-building complexes.
- Universities and Hospitals. Multiple buildings? Yep. Parking and transportation important? Yep. Add landmarks and historic sites to those two criteria, and you have places perfectly suited to aerial photography.
- Towns. Aerials can be useful to towns for planning, publicity, and marketing. They visually communicate layout and zoning configurations, and make it easier to see how plans look in practice. Our shoots for the town of Harrisonburg include construction sites, James Madison University, and established businesses.
If you'd like to be on our next flight, let us know! Our aerials are popular with businesses, but they also make great keepsake prints for vacation rentals or private homes. Some of our favorite shoots have been of family farms from the air.Interested to see what we've already shot?
