We're always preaching the value of professional photography. See here, here, here, or even here! But, we're marketing realists at heart. And the truth is, professional photography is less essential in some industries than others. Here's how that breaks down:For realtors, marketing firms, and most contractors, high quality images should be non-negotiable. Basically, if your work involves marketing and/or selling goods or services for your clients, you can't skimp on photography. You have to sell your own services with polished photos, or clients won't trust you to sell for them. But, if you're a craftsman...A maker...An Etsy all-star...A personal chef....If you're a professional like those - running a small business and selling your own products - you may be able to get the clear, effective images you need all on your own. And you may even be able to do it on your smartphone. In fact, with the right information, we know you can.It doesn't take long to learn basic techniques and skills that will elevate your product photography from obviously amateur to surprisingly great.A little guidance on smartphone camera settings, shot angles, and product arrangement goes a long way! The know-how to capture images efficiently with a smart workflow makes a big difference too.You might be able to find an online class that covers some of these skills. But, if you're anywhere near the Shenandoah Valley, we recommend that you come learn them from us!This summer, we're offering our first-ever product photography workshop. We'll cover all that good stuff we just mentioned - camera settings, staging, workflow - and prepare you to take your own fantastic smartphone shots. And as a bonus: it will be fun.To make sure you don't miss all the details as we announce them, click here to subscribe to our blog.
