Even if you don't use a professional photographer in your own real estate marketing, you probably know why they're usually hired: to photograph properties for sale. But, here's something you may not have considered: when you contract with a professional for your listings, they can give you valuable marketing content that goes beyond the MLS.One great example is stock photography. In case you don't already know, real estate "stock" usually refers to photos that aren't tied to a particular listing. Think of a gorgeous mountain sunset or a shot from a downtown street. Photos like these are an underrated marketing tool.Stock photography is widely available online, and some of it is even free. But, nothing beats images that are actually captured in the region where you sell properties.Using local stock makes you look knowledgeable about your sales area. It helps you "sell" that area to clients who might be comparing multiple locations. And, as with most quality photography, it just makes you look professional. We think all that stuff is pretty important. So, when we sign on to photograph a large volume of listings for a real estate brokerage, we also give them free access to our stock photography bank.Agents can access our stock images at any time, and put them to use in marketing materials from their websites and fliers to ads on social media. They're perfect for Instagram, too.If you're already working with a commercial photographer, we recommend asking them about their "stock options!" If free or low cost options for selling your spaces and impressing clients are out there, you don't want to do without them. For more about using stock photos once you've got 'em, read Placester's thoughts on the subject.
