Swartz company began as an architectural and commercial photography firm specializing in residential and commercial styled interiors and architectural property. Ashley’s love of photography, real estate and professional hosting led to birth of Swartz Company when she and her husband, Ryan, began traveling and photographing spaces for AirBnb in 2010 and expanded their services to incorporate professional short term rental hosting, consultation and entire visual marketing packages for commercial, architectural and real estate projects.

Ashley Swartz has been an interested real estate investor in the Shenandoah Valley all her adult life, purchasing her first property as a sophomore in college. Ashley enjoyed the transaction and principals of real estate so much that she became a residential realtor. Working as an agent part-time, she gained experience and added more investments to her portfolio including residential rentals, commercial rentals, and short-term rentals. Recently Ashley has committed to real estate more permanently, joining Cottonwood Commercial as a commercial realtor in 2018.

Ashley majored in Finance and Management and graduated from JMU in 2007. Professionally she has worked as a tax auditor, working with several organizations including the city of Harrisonburg, the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, and the Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control.

After photographing AirBnB properties, Ashley quickly moved into creating her own AirBnB rentals starting in 2011. As a seasoned professional hostess, having earned “Superhost” and 5 star ratings since the origins of the Superhost program, she now spearheads hosting consultation assisting others in getting their short term rental properties ready for long term success.

Ashley spends her free time going on adventures with Ryan and their two daughters. She enjoys photographing landscapes and working to preserve historical architecture.
